New Entrepreneurs: Which Website Platform to Choose?
Feb 16, 2023
As a new entrepreneur, it can be quite daunting to choose a website platform, especially when there are A LOT of great options for new entrepreneurs and they just keep getting better. I remember when there was really only one obvious choice -- and that was Wordpress -- for new entrepreneurs.
A lot has changed over the past decade, and there are many easy-to-use platforms that make creating a website fast really easy.
There are several website platforms that are well-suited for new entrepreneurs, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. The best platform for YOU, as a new entrepreneur, will depend on your specific needs and goals. I also suggest going by niche as you decide which platform to use.
Here are some popular website platforms that I recommend for new entrepreneurs:
-
Best for Blogging - WordPress: WordPress is a popular website platform that offers a lot of flexibility and customization options. It is easy to use and has a large community of users and developers, making it easy to find support and resources. WordPress is hands-down the best choice for entrepreneurs who want to create a blog or content-focused website. It still provides the best blogging system out there, and boasts more customization options for your site. Down side is that it is more complicated to use and edit than some of the other site platform options.
-
Best for a Quick, Simple Website - Wix: Wix is a drag-and-drop website builder that is very user-friendly and requires no coding skills. It offers a range of templates and design options, making it easy to create a professional-looking website quickly. Wix is a good choice for entrepreneurs who want to create a simple website or online store.
-
Best for Service OR Product Website - Squarespace: Squarespace is a website builder that offers a range of templates and design options, making it easy to create a professional-looking website quickly. It also has built-in e-commerce features, making it a good choice for entrepreneurs who want to sell products online. It also has membership features, and is upping the game when it comes to online courses and coaching as well.
-
Best for E-commerce - Shopify: Shopify is an ecommerce platform that is designed specifically for online stores. It offers a range of features for managing inventory, processing payments, and shipping products. Shopify is a good choice for entrepreneurs who want to create a robust online store.
- Best for Coaching - Kajabi: This is hands-down my favorite platform for creating online courses and coaching programs. There is a reason why it has become the standard in the industry... and that's because it houses course hosting software, email management, website hosting, and blogging all in one platform. Although it is more expensive than the other sites - you would end up paying more for a CRM system, course hosting, and website hosting platforms than you would for just Kajabi. Having everything in one place makes it so much easier to integrate and sell your courses as well. I use it and I LOVE IT. You can get a free 30-Day trial with my link here.
Overall, the best website platform for you as a new entrepreneur will depend on your specific needs and goals. It is important to research and compare different platforms to find the one that is right for you.
Cheers to your new entrepreneurial journey!
Love,
Lauren
